........what tv are you using? I have a HDTV 1080p LCD TV and melee is great on it.....No problems whatsoever

add that all my wii games work perfect on it too, as does my 360 and PS3, so there is no reason brawl shouldn't

All right question answered, thread over. Who's hungry? I could go for tacos myself, but I'd be cool with Chinese.

I think the guy is referring to screen lag... and in that case, he has greatly misunderstood the issue.
Melee lagging on HDTVs and LCDs has nothing to do with Melee itself. Its the TVs that are the problem.

Yeah there's no reason for any HDTV to not work with any game.

Plasma screen might be a problem, but of the three types of HDTV (plasma, lcd, projection) LCD should be the least lag. I have one and while mine was made for gaming I've had 0 problems with lag. And i'm not using it's special gaming port (because it's on the side and the TV cabinet it's in makes it so that area is blocked) and I still have never had screen lag problems with any games, including melee.

You probably have lag, but are just unaware of it.
The amount of lag is generally just a few milliseconds and it really shouldn't affect most people.

There are people that play extremely precise and fast rhythm games who can detect a single frame's worth of lag, so the issue does exist.

It's just that most people don't play on such a level that a few milliseconds really affects anything, especially if you're used to the effects of the lag.

We play games like guitar hero on it and it hasn't ever messed us up. But like I said I bought a TV that was made for game, in other words one that was made not to lag.

As to answer the overall question it depends. Your TV might lag, but there isn't a HDTV that you can buy that would be better (unless you did like I did and buy one made for gaming). Good way to test is to just play some other games, you'll know if it's lagging enough to screw you up.
