"I'LL KILL YOU!" - Monado Smash Art + Rage KO percentages on Mario

On behalf of the Shulk Boards, several of us banded together for this project researching to see just how effective Shulk's KO potential can be with the Smash Art AND the Rage Effect against Mario as our example. These moves were all performed fresh with their ideal Blade hitboxes in an actual match setting since the Rage Effect does not apply in Training Mode. These KO percentages are also the earliest percent that the Deadly Blow spark effect will appear & were tested by hitting Mario from the center of Omega Battlefield / Omega Gaur Plains without DI.

Helpful Notes:
  • All of these moves were tested with their strongest hitboxes aka the Blade hitboxes.
  • We used several methods of finding the KO percentages while using the Handicap accordingly.
  • Air Slash can be delayed by waiting out the 2nd attack in order to KO slightly earlier. However, Air Slash was mashed quickly pressing the B button or whatever button desired.
  • Both hits of F-smash straightforward & angled down have the same KO percentages. Meanwhile, the 2nd hit of F-smash tilted up increases knockback growth aka KBG.
  • The 1st hit of D-smash connecting with the center of the Blade hitbox is better because D-smash has 3 different Blade knockback angles, so we used the very center Blade hitbox since it's stronger than up close.
  • U-smash was tested using the ground-targeting-only 1st hit knock-up effect into the 2nd hit. U-smash done without the knock-up effect will KO at later percents.
  • B-air hitting in front of, underneath, & behind Shulk are all the same Blade hitbox result. No worries.
  • B-throw & D-throw were performed very close to the ledge. In B-throw's case, Shulk was at the very end of the stage whereas in D-throw's case Shulk ran towards Mario on the very end of the stage to create the dash grab punish scenario from their getup option.

Note: For testing FThrow & DThrow, I had Mario back roll to the very ledge & had Shulk grab the ledge, ledge-climb onto the stage, & then slightly turned around to face their direction to be very close to the ledge. For testing BThrow I just had Shulk back roll to the very ledge & had Mario stand in front of Shulk.

Shulk's Maximum KO Potential?

Hyper Smash Shulk with maximum Rage effect at 150% using the Forwarded Power Vision can KO Mario at 21% using his Jab1, without DI, & standing at the center of Omega Gaur Plains. 21% is when the Deadly Blow effect appears. What about Jigglypuff you ask? She's KO'd at 16% using her Jab1. The Deadly Blow effect appears at 16%.

What if a Hyper Smash Shulk Forwarded Power Vision countered a Hyper Smash Shulk's Jab1? He dies at 1% since that's when the Deadly Blow effect appears. Seriously? Yup seriously. That's the Monado's power.

The title is what I think when I want someone's stock gone using a Smash Art.

Rage Effect affects knockback. The mechanic increases the amount of knockback you deal the higher your own percentage becomes afaik, & I recently learned from reading this thread that Rage does increase the amount of hitstun dealt.

Oh... you mean a new mechanic that the more damage you get, your attacks will gain more knockbacks?
