Ike Suggestions

So I'm a pretty decent Snake (consistent snakedashing, good use of aerials, nice stage control), but the problem is that I only ever play against one other person. I don't have a variety of characters to play against, since this person only mains Lucas, Pikachu, and Toon Link (none of which are exceptionally good, by the way).

Anyways, I have a money-match with an Ike coming up in a week, and I was wondering if there was any advice you all had. I checked the matchup guide and Ike isn't in there. Does Snake have an advantage? How much?

I feel like Ike's disjointed hitbox might be a problem, but he's slow, and I think some well-placed C4 or some shield-dropped nades would hurt him.

Any suggestions?

Snake has a pretty big advantage over Ike, one way to deal with him is just out range him and lay all sorts of nasties around and wait for him to come to you. A mine should be able to take care of his ability to do that quick dash attack move.

A more direct method would to be just to beat the crap outta him with your tilts, all his smash attacks are generally easily blocked. His recovery isn't that great either

Also, time and drop grenades on the ground and roll at times. Ike will hit it with his sword when he does smash attacks or f-airs. A good snake has the advantage over a good Ike.

Surprised nobody mentioned this yet.. Nikita is very good at gimping both of Ike's recoveries.

If he >B's, just put position a nikita in between him and the ledge (or above it if he's not sweetspotting it) and watch him slash the nikita and get exploded. I'm even pretty sure that there is a way to make him hit the nikita without making it explode so he'll just fall to his death. I don't remember how to do it though, since I don't play against an Ike often.

If he ^B's, just put the nikita above him so when he throws the sword up he'll get hit by it. Since this is long after his super armor frames it works.

Like I said before, I don't play against an Ike often so I don't know just how reliable or easy to pull off these are, but they're two things you should definitely try. Maybe ask that person you play against to play as Ike a couple times just to try a couple things out? Don't get mindgamed when you beat him though. Remember that he doesn't main Ike.

Other than that, like everyone else said, take advantage of the fact that you have tons of projectiles, while Ike has none. And just a little tip for the money match; don't get cocky. If you do, you'll end up killing yourself with your own grenades, C4, proximity mines, or a mix of all three.
