If you really want Smash 4 to play less like Brawl

Why don't we assemble a website petition or a mailbombing complaint. I've heard Sakurai dumbed down brawl because people complained...I don't see why he couldn't increase the skill ceiling if we express our disappointment with a lack of hitstun and combos.

I think you give the internet WAY too much credit for communicating its message to Sakurai. What makes you think Sakurai knows about Evo OR PM? It's easy to dismiss an abstract "community niche" but it is much harder to dismiss physical letters or emails from fans.

In a petition however we should not make demands but rather ask Sakurai to also consider people who preferred the fast paced gameplay of Melee when making the new Smash.

Melee went in over Brawl because the Smash scene and Evo don't see eye to eye on tournament rules. Evo's committie holds the policy that nothing should be banned until it is proven in a tournament enviroment to be bad for the game. Smash players ban things on principle.

Due to exploiding capsules being impossible to turn off in Melee and because a young Smash scene wasn't as bull as to disrespect the evo community by THROWING A SEPARATE NATIONAL IN PROTEST so the results of this were seen at high level play, the evo tournament rules can match up nicely with the Smash communities with little issue.

The tournament attendance for both has such small variance that its statistically inconclusive.

Well, there's always the Miiverse to try something that. Apparently Nintendo listens to what people have what to say there. There's even a thread about it.
