Stanley The Bugman from Donkey Kong 3 is actually Mario's cousin.
He was never a Mario character, because after Mario Bros., Mario had no more siblings other than Luigi. And after SMW2: Yoshi's Island, Baby Mario & Baby Luigi was suppose to be Mario's (And Luigi's) 2nd & 3rd cousins, but people would never see the relationship.

Interesting...

I wonder what he would've been like if he had made it to the 3D Mario games, like Mario Party and such.

Well, he was suppose to be a filler character, but Yoshi had filled in for him.
Or was it Wario?

pac man was originally supposed to be called puck man
mario was originally called jump man
donkey kong is not a translation error
space invaders caused a national coin shortage in japan
tons of et cartridges were buried in new mexico then had cement poured over them
nintendo roughly translated means leave luck to heaven
the reason mario wears a hat and has a moustache is because in the original donkey kong arcade game he would have looked too weird with hair and a mouth, so they just put a hat on him and a moustache.
super mario bros 2 for the nes was actually originally a game called doki doki panic. the reason we didn't get the lost levels instead is because they thought it would be too difficult for us american gamers.
pong was never intended to be sold as a game. it was just meant for a guy to program as practice.
the word atari is the term in the japanese game go equivalent to "check" in chess

that is all I can think of off the top of my head right now

I saw that on G4, I think it was an episode of Icons or something. They were talking about the video game crash in the 80s and everyone blamed ET. Which is why they're buried.

I think the crash is why ROB was made.
