Hey all, wazzup? this thread is for Sonic lovers and/or fans. All others probably wont get this.

i was watching some scenes from the old Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Y'know? the one with Sarah? the one u only watched cuz of Knuckles cowboy hat? yeah, that one. And then i saw a commercial for Astro Boy the movie. my mind got to thinkin, "if they made a modern Sonic the Hedgehog movie, should they have it kid themed and Imagi studios (same ppl who made Astro Boy movie) make it to be complete animated? OR should they go with live action and just have the Sonic characters CG.

Advantages to kid theme & animation
Rating: G-PG
Movie set in Mobius (which means no annoying badly animated humans COUGH*Chris*HACK WHEEZE sorry. bad throat
Sonic characters look more like their original selves.
G-PG rating makes a great family movie

Kid themed movie would turn out to be another Astro Boy

Advantages to live action
Rating: PG13
Movie is more edgier attracting older audiences. and remember, there are more older audience people with money than kids who have parents that will pay $50.00 to see a movie only the kid wants to see hehe.
edgy sonic movie might change people's opinion about the Sonic series being "kiddie games"
edgy Sonic movie allows (wow alot of these have to do with the fact that the movie is edgy. go figure) the high possibility of Shadow being in the movie
live action movie offers more modern look to Sonic and friends which would fit WAY more for an edgy movie..
while probably having a terrible script, movie would look EPIC.

Edgy movie would turn out to be either like DragonBall: Evolution or like Transformers(probably not but i'm hoping).

the one inevitable downside
Selena Gomez/Miley Cyrus/ any annoying female Disney Star will play Amy's voice.

This is how a Sonic the Hedgehog movie needs to be played out.

...

Animated, anime style. For those familiar with Sonic X, the animation on some episodes and some shots was phenominal, and really brought life to the characters. Other times? They just...look...so ********, and I facepalm.

Take for example, the first episode of Sonic X. It was very well animated all around. Now take that, and multiple it by 10, and take that kind of quality and make a Sonic anime movie out of it. Live action would fail, and while SEGA's CG work is phenominal and some of the best in the gaming business? It pales in comparison to the kind of life you can find in a more colorful world, one that can be brought out the best in animation.

What the story consists of? Who knows. I think it would be great if they had a movie installment to the actual main game canon series, personally. It worked amazingly for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (Complete), and done right and with enough effort put in with good animation and story writing? I think it could be achieved.

One can dream.

well my friends are already making games, and i love making movies. plus i just got Adobe Premiere Elements 7 :D. If i could figure out how to work the dang software and we had some company help us then someday....someday....

Right, but that's nothing for Ash. Dude's been through a lot. I wouldn't mind seeing some recolors getting chopped in half by that sweet car Ash has at the end.

I do have to admit Sonic has lost his luster. I hear they are making a new Sonic game and going back to his old roots. I hope it's good!
