Hello everyone, first post

I really enjoyed watching evo 2014, but I noticed a lot of Fox and Falco. As much as I love watching the insane things pros can do with those two, it made me curious: if you ban Fox and Falco, what happens to yhe meta? I'm not saying they should be banned, I just want to know what happens.

What do you guys think?

Ganondorf would be near top-tier without the A tier and up. Only Shiek, Fox, and Falco give him serious trouble...less so Falco I feel, but without them around he'd probably be top-tier or A tier. He doesn't have any bad matchups with the rest of the cast except Captain Falcon but that can be worked around.

Then I can finally realize my dream of maining Pikachu.
I don't know, but if you watched Axe at EVO, I don't think you need any bans to realize your dream.

Without Fox, and Falco, the game would be slowed down a lot. If you look closely, most lower tier characters are much more interesting to watch when they are fighting against them.

Without Fox, Falco, Shiek, and Marth, I think jigglypuff would be really annoying to beat. Any way you put it, you only make the game slower.

A big thing of note is this:
Fox, and Falco are very powerful, yes, but they are also picked often because they are very fun characters to play. They are very spectator friendly, and they play nice with pretty much the whole cast because pretty much any character can 0-death them. If Fox and Falco were banned, the game would be less fun.

I'm not suggesting they should be banned, I'm just curious as to what would happen meta-wise

Puff = Top Tier
"And if puff was banned?"
Sheik = Top Tier
"And if Sheik was banned?"
Dude, just keep scrolling down the tierlist until you find a char that you like.

Really? I thought there were several characters (like ganondorf) who were noticebly lower tier only because of fox/falco
Sheik chain throws him for days.
Marth walls him out.
Peach outclasses him.
Puff out spaces him.
And so on... Lets just say that without spacies, ganon might be more or less in the same spot.

But tier lists shouldn't dictate who you want to main. Ganon is not that bad.
If you'd like a higher tiered char that's similar then try CF.

I think you're misunderstanding me, I main marth. I'm just curious as to what happens if some of the more dominant characters were to cease to exist

Shiek destroys every other character in the game... Except for Puff. The MU between Sheik and Puff is arguable, but the usual consensus is small advantage for Puff. Puff is even vs Marth, and arguably even or even bad for puff vs YL and Doc. I think Sheik and Puff would about tie, but it really comes down to that matchup.
