Idea for improving community involvement

I saw a Dedede thread that was dedicated to suggesting what Dedede players wanted to see most in upcoming patches(Found Here), and while I'm sure it's not the first (definitely not the last), it got me thinking.

I think there should be a thread like this one that is stickied or at least courteously bumped in every character discussion board. This would be the easiest way for PMBR to simply skim through a thread and locate ideas to investigate, or at least to poke their head in and share their opinions on why these suggestions should/shouldn't be pursued.

If you guys agree, let's get on it, it's as easy as clicking the "post new thread" button, though I think we should at least decide on an official name for these threads before doing so.

If this thread gets enough attention, we'll start a poll on what to call them and then have a discussion on how to handle the threads before proceeding, as I feel threads such as this would be loads better with a few guidelines laid out.

I feel like the combination of the character subforums and the Tier List thread alreadt serve that purpose.

Also, we generally aren't looking for people giving lists of what characters "need," and we're certainly more interested in players exploring what characters already have.

While "everything is subject to change," we'd like to encourage people to spend their efforts expanding their character's metagame instead of simply asking for changes.

I agree with you for the most part, as I believe the work done in PM has already gone so far toward balancing the game, but I've always had this vision that Project M is a game kind of "for the community, by the community" in a way, though I guess really that could be untrue.
I know there are plenty of people that would like to see melee vets that received no changes receive changes, such as Jiggly, well only Jiggly comes to mind lol.
But the way I see it, until this game is finished and the PMBR finalizes it, people are going to ask for changes, and you guys are going to keep making changes, so it'd be strange to not have any correlation between the two.

EDIT: Also, I wanted to take the idea a lot further than simply having a thread of suggestions, because I think that would be a pretty big waste of time. I wanted to have polls on what changes each character board have the most shared interest in, being rated on likeliness of seeing made and how much the board wanted it. I don't want to just have a "do you guys think jiggly needs an up b" thing going on, I would want votes first for if she even needs one or if the Jiggly boards wanted one, and if so, votes on how it should be collected and suggested. This would make it easy for any PMBR member to poke in and say "nah" or "meh, maybe".
