Eh, for some reason I was thinking about how people don't like how there is a portrait of each character pasted under the damage counters, and I thought of something. It's not a very new idea, Animal Crossing and Mario Kart have both utilized this feature, but how 'bout a custom avatar designer? I'd be down with that idea, I'm into that kinda stuff. Plus, it would be nice if you weren't restricted to 32 bit, giving you a smoother designing tablet, and maybe an infinite slew of colors. Or maybe even get a little crazier, and add in some Photoshop or Flash MX smoothing techniques. The only reason I suggested the Flash MX smoothing drawing technique is because if anyone has ever used the Photo Channel to try and draw stuff, it's pretty darn hard.

But I'm jumping the gun here. A simple avatar designer with the basic tools would be kind of nice, and would give a little more meaning to those big squares impeding our view of the battle.

(I actually don't mind them, by the way.)

What do you think?

I dont think it will happen because of the amount of phalluses and swatzstikas I've seen in mariokart. sound like a nifty idea anyway. And by like flash do you mean vector art?

They're not actually swastikas. The sign you're probably seeing is the sign of good hope, peace, harmony, and prosperity. The Nazi party just took the sign and decided that they could be "original" if they turned and mirrored it. And besides, a little kid can't exactly get offended by the image of said body part, mainly because they wouldn't know what it is to begin with. It's the parents that would get offended, and if they really cared about something like that, they wouldn't have bought their little kids Mario Kart DS and let them play online in the first place. And if they really wanted to protect their children, they'd check things like the ESRB ratings and the content, maybe play the games themselves to see.

I actually think this might add a bit of fun to Brawl. The sacrifice is obvious, but why would someone like me care?

I don't think most of us really care, or most of anyone, besides like you say, moms and the Brothers-Nintendo, but your right to say that reasoning is in the backs of the designers minds. That's just one of those things on the internet you can't avoid, or blame the game for. That's just people abusing communications tools. I better stop before I start ranting.

Now that I read up on it, yes, vector art was what I was thinking. lol I didn't know what it was called, all I knew is it made my drawings smooth. Nevertheless, that would be sweet to have implemented in some way.
