Idea: Character Match-Up Specific Music?

I got this crazy idea after listening to Jimmy's Aerobics, a fitness song from WarioWare DIY, that maybe a one-on-one battle between a special match-up of characters would cause special music to be played during the battle. In this case, Jimmy's Aerobics would play during a battle between Wario and Wii Fit Trainer as it suits them both. Feel free to leave your suggestions below

I think that would be very interesting to see, and could at least a neat way to unlock hidden tracks. This is purely conjecture, but from the developer's point of view it may seem that in the case where they can't find paired music for most fighters, it wouldn't see inclusion because it would feel forced and disjointed.

I suppose, but look at Playstation All-Stars. Their rivalries get a bit strange at times, so why can't Nintendo? I admit it would be hard to find rivalries though. I kinda just wanna see people's creativity on this idea.

Less crazy than you think. Actually Psychic 5 (search on You-Tube) used a different music for each character rather than for each stage, and it worked.

That voice sounds awfully familiar... Like one of the voices that was on one of the kid shows I use to watch when I was little. o_O

But in all honesty I want something like this in the next Smash game. :S

They can just do what Arcsys does with their games. Make it where only certain matchups have specific music. They always tie them into the storyline like this one:

I don't know why you quoted me when I already addressed this. Is there something I am missing? As far as I know, there isn't going to be an actual story mode.

I misunderstood your post. And of course, there is no actual story mode, but that doesn't mean you can't take character relationships into account. I think we all want some specific Mario vs. Sonic track that doesn't involve the Olympics.

That's what I was thinking. I especially like the Litchi vs. Arakune theme.

Exactly how the gameplay speed of the game should have been. Smash at it's best when it's hectic and fast IMO.
