the IC can be extremely difficult. any infinite is banned if it passes a certain point(250% is the common cieling). but it should be interesting when we get to them in the matchup thread.

lol yes they are a crap load of fun. that is why they are my best second :p. I never thought the infinite was that good, as once it loses it's strength it is down to 203 ice block per damage.

Saw this just last night. I spent the rest of my night trying to figure out WHAT THE **** to do to escape, if possible. The best idea I could come up with is quick attacking OVER the trajectory of the ice, and risking an awkward landing on the stage near the edge.

That way, when you land, you aren't in "Help, I've fallen and can't get up!" mode, so the ice doesn't lock you. Depending on your spacing, you my not even get damaged for that matter. (If you look at Pikachu's damage closely in the video, there's a point where the Ice blocks only make him flinch and don't damage him)

the point is you won't be able to quick attack out of this if you get Nana f-air'ed into the ground. once you don't tech, you're done for, as long as the desynch timing is decent...once you get to the edge though, it shouldn't be a problem to recover

True True. About half way through the ice lock, I tried everything to get out. The best way is to just DI to the edge : /

Is it possible that this had anything to do with the lag from online or is this a known infinite?

Infinites in tournaments happen all the time. Most of them are never banned. Most good TO's haven't banned much of anything yet.

Best thing to do in this situation (other than TECH before it starts) is to DI towards the ledge. Remember that once you are off the stage, you can jump away to get space and then recover normally. Once you get below the stage, I'd Up-B straight up, or else away and then back up to the ledge.

the thing with pika's lock is that we can knock a person back so in theory we could keep them there no matter what the DI is.

Pika?
There is a way to escape this much quicker than you did. Every time you get hit by an ice block, smash BOTH STICKS away from where the ice blocks are coming. You should get up after 3 or 4 ice blocks because you will have moved too far, so the blocks won't keep you in the lock.

This unfotunately isn't true either, using the smash DI as i said, you can make it so that the pikachu can only get around 7-10 hits with QAC lock, its very depressing
