We all know that Sakurai is putting his entire heart and soul into this game. He honestly, truly cares about it, and would probably be personally hurt or offended if he hears it unfairly criticized after release. You can just tell he really cares about the job he and his team are doing, and honestly wants Brawl to be wonderful. I saw the same kind of attitude from the Bungie guys before Halo 3 came out.
My point is, that when an incredible game like Brawl, one that is better even than most great games, comes around, it is because the creator or creators but their whole selves and all of their efforts into this, their form of art. They honestly wanted greatness.
So, I wonder if Sakurai and those like him are insulted by developers who slap together games in a week with absolutley no regaurd as to if it will be good or not. How come only 1 in 5 movie games is a long, good, fun experience? Because most of them are not cared about.
Now, there is a difference between not cared about and dont know what they are doing. And I am sure some developers do put their all into a game, but they just arent as good as others and they get hit with a 6.75 or a 7 for a rating. I am sure Sakurai and his like are not insulted by that.
I am talking about when a developer produces a game that is basically an advertisement (Santa Clause 3 for GBA anyone?) and just doesnt care if the game will be good at all. If I was Sakurai or somebody like him, I would be especially insulted if I was working for one specific console. Miyamoto's Super Mario Brother's 3 for GBA sits on the same section at game stop as Zoey 101 The Game.
It's one thing to sell Sneak King at Burger King and charge 5 bucks, but when Aquaman is released on the same system, same price as Halo, it doesnt seem right.
So, I wonder, if you were Sakurai or somebody like him, would you be insulted by these kind of developers?
