i think that marth will be cut... If not cut but a completely altered moveset and/or remove the insane power of his tipper. I mean c'mon if you think back he was way too strong, his pro's hugely out numbered the cons what do you think?

Nerf is what i think, there's no reason to remove the one that started the FE franchise, of course removimg him adds space for the Black Knight and Micaiah so, meh i don't really care.

Or he could be replaced by Sigurd, IIRC that guy is very popular over there isn't it?

That Sword always makes me remember Sigurd's sword... coincidence?

Or maybe Sigurd was meant to be in melee? Both Sigurd and Marth look very smilar.

There's no reason to cut Marth. He just needs to be a little nerfed thats all.

If Marth is in than so should Roy. They're a great combo in my opinion from Melee.

However Marth deserves to come back while Roy is nothing but a filler character, not deserving of return

IF they're going to go through the effort to give a FE character a unique moveset, it might as well be given to a new character. Giving Marth a new moveset would alienate all the fans of Marth's playstyle and alienate all the fans who wanted a new character instead.

But he is a good character. I am much better with Roy in Melee than I am with Marth.
He's not a good character out of Smash in the Nintendo universe and has done nothing for their history...If he wasn't in Melee, he would NEVER have been suggested for Brawl...His game did sell a lot, in due to the advertisement he was in Melee but it was HORRIBLE.

Roy is not a good character whether people liked him in Melee or not.

But think of the other people that are also good with Roy and just happened to be crappy with any other character and support him. He may not be good outside of the Smash Universe but think of him in the Smash Universe.

I like Marth as much as the next guy but, I suck being him. =/

Well, since EVERY character in Smash is changing when they get into Brawl anyway...eveyone is going to have to find a new, different character anyway...Plus Roy is nothing but a filler character from a bad game and doesn't deserve a return

Removed? Not a chance. Hes the single best representative for Fire Emblem - one of its most popular characters even after more than a decade since his last game, its first Lord, and the star of the animated series. If Ike weren't confirmed, it would be perfectly accurate to say hes more likely to be in than Ike (or any other FE character).

Changed moves? Undoubtedly. Not a single character went from the original to Melee without an alteration to their abilities and attacks in some way - sometimes it was minor (Fox), sometimes major (Kirby), but it was always there - and theres no reason to think it will be any different in Brawl. (And in fact a lot of reason to think it will be exactly as such, given we know Link and Mario have had changes made even to their special moves.)

Nerfed? Maybe, maybe not. In the transition from the original to Melee the top-tiers (Kirby, Pikachu, and Ness) were nerfed, but on the other hand the high-tiers either rose (Fox) or stayed much the same (Captain Falcon). Who can say which fate will befall each of the top and high tier characters this time around?

Hate to break it to you, but they're no combo. The only connection between them is being from the same series. They don't even come from the same universe within that series. And unlike Marth, Roy has no reason to be in SSB - he was only in Melee as an add for his game, and can no longer fill that role. Hes neither significant to the series nor popular (he has more fans from his Melee appearance than his Fire Emblem one), and thus has nothing to recommend him as a representative for it.

Thats just the thing - his appearance within the Smash games is utterly irrelevant to whether hes a good representative for Fire Emblem. All the characters get in on their own merits from their own games and series, not because of what they could or could not do in an SSB game. And plainly, since we know some characters are getting cut, being in a past SSB game means nothing to whether a character will be in Brawl, which kills Roy's odds since the only significant thing about him is that he was in Melee.
