I think I need a distraction.

Smash is all I’m really doing right now, so I feel like there’s a lot of pressure there, I think I should develop a hobby, or two, to make things less focused on Smash, so it can be more enjoyable. So, my question is, what should I start doing? What do you guys like to do with your time away from Smash? What helps alleviate the stress for you? I’m interested to read your responses!

I watch anime, read manga, play other games, or nap. I’ll sometimes play that one comfort game I find relaxing and rewarding to play so that it can keep me motivated about something else in my daily life.

Any specific anime you’re watching right now?

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. It’s one of my favorite series and the fifth part is currently being adapted into anime. I also just finished Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which has great pacing. Both are available to watch on Crunchyroll.

I'm trying to learn Spanish. I tried the whole study and Duolingo thing, but after a while it got real tedious. I've moved on to watching anime in Spanish, and I'd say it's working so far.

I always end up falling back to Stawdew Valley.

I prefer to keep from falling into those kind of "holes" of playing the same game over by setting daily goals. Like upping my GS by a certain amount or telling myself "I'm going to play at least 15 matches today and if I wanna play more I will but once I hit that number it can be very rewarding internally.

Instead of just grinding out match after match, goals help. Not just with smash.
