If you didn't catch it, when Sheik trumped him, he went straight down instead of bouncing off. I don't know why that happened, but I thought this might be new or you have an explanation. He's using Bidou, by the way.

Any ideas on what happened?

I'm pretty sure he just dropped off. It looks like the regular animation for when you press down or back when hanging on the ledge.

Perhaps ESAM unknowingly buffered either a ledge option, or a fall-off, and the windbox messed it up.

It's what HYP3R said, windboxes cause the trump angle to change. You don't see it often because the wind needs to affect them before they grab the ledge and doesn't work if it hits them during the snap either, but I've heard of it mentioned one or two times before awhile back.

Easiest way to replicate it solo in training would be to jab off the ledge as Greninja, pause for a bit to let him drop, then Hydro Pump his upB and ledge trump him. When you ledge trump he'll either be ejected into the ledge or up onto the stage, depending on his percent.
