I need tips on pikachu skillz

Ok i need help with pikachu because i'm new to him and i just figuired out that i like to use pikachu i'm ok i can some what kill my bro but in the end i get pwnt (brother is sonic user)
So on 1-5 i rate my self a 2-3 for starters i really need a good way to get there % up, killer move and how to survive longer

Welcome to Pikachu-dom!

Well for starters, watch some videos. I recommend watching some vid's of Anther's pika. He has a couple threads floating around under the pika forum containing some of his videos.

Anyways, you should probably learn how to be pretty comfortable in pikachu's movement and confident in what you already know, once you have that down, go ahead and start learning how to Quick Attack Cancel (QAC) and get comfortable with that. 20 mins in practice mode sounds fair.

Advice for getting percent up: Foward air into downsmash is usually good.
Or:
Forward air into upsmash and then trying to juggle with upair.
Any kind of combo consisting of uptilt, forward air and up airs.
Hit and run style tactics will work too since pika is more nimble. But Sonic is faster so that might not work.
Chaingrabbing.
(Whenever I grab i like to throw in 2+ little jabs before grabbing (press a when holding onto them])
Downsmash, alot.
Spam your neutral B move, thunder jolt.

For kill moves, I find that if they are in 150% area, a downsmash will kill.
and around 100 an un-abused upsmash should kill some lighter charactes (maybe?)
Mainly though pika's kill moves are:
Forward smash, upsmash, downsmash, neutral air or throw to edgeguarding or just edgeguarding in general.

To give tips for surving is a little bit harder.
Basically, try to avoid getting hit (obvious but very true)
Don't be afraid to shield alot.
I spot dodge alot, and it works well for the spotdodge to downsmash combo. (I play my brother alot, so i know when he'll attack so i predict it with a spotdodge, though lately he has been catching on.)
Basically always try to perdict your opponent so you can avoid his moves, AKA be unpredictable.

I don't play Pikachu actively (he's on the list to add to characters I can play well though), but I can at least tell you that Dsmash can kill a lot sooner than 150% if you don't spam it.

You're right. I meant it more as a move to use with assurance that it will kill, especially against heavier characters like Snake. I didn't know specific percents for different classes off my head so i gave the number i don't believe most characters will ever live past if the move is used against the. And I do spam it.

Use pikachu's down smash to rack perctanges up and use thunder jolt every oppurtunity ( though that's probably not very often against Sonic.) Also don't forgot that pikachu's grabs rock. Another thing u could test out that I'm not sure works, is pikachu's invincibilty frame abused by spamming his down B.

IDK if anyone has mentioned this or not but doing the quick attack cancelation (QACk) has helped me win a few matches. Also if you can try to do some chainthrows, that will get their % up.
