Someone is hacking my PC, typing things to me and others in a certain chat. I'm on my Wii, which I hope cannot be hacked. The PC is used for schoolwork, so it's vital that I am able to use it.

Also, I have a strong suspicion that the hacker is someone in the chat.

What to do?

Okay, the source of your problem, Spyware.

If you have a Windows computer, go to the start Icon, go to Run. In the box that appears, type Prefetch. Now, from the sounds of it a ****load of documents should come up that are just a bunch of numbers and letters. Those are viruses. Hit ctrl A and hold down shift while pressing Delete (Not backspace DELETE. A popup box will appear asking if you want to delete the files. Click yes. Your computer hardrive is now clean.

I hope I have been of surface.

I could be wrong, but doesn't that delete Windows and everything? Or at least the files that Windows needs to have to run properly?

Yes it isn't easy as that.

First of all, this goes to the computer café. Why people keep asking/posting things related to PC problems on the Pool Room?

...and you should clarify, is your pc connected to a LAN? does someone have access to your Network in some way? do you have an antivirus, firewall, etc?

What are you on? Windows XP/Vista?

If they are trying to hack your computer, install some anti-virus programs, or atleast a 30-day trail to remove it. If it is a virus..that'd be bad.

If you want a complete 100% method...Look for your windows xp/vista home CD...and reinstall windows..it'll erase everything, so make sure to back your stuff up. :)

of course, that's unless you have nothing to save on your computer.

would you mind pressing ALT + CTRL + DELETE and telling me what processes are running in the background? pressing the PrintScreen SysRq button would be faster, as you can just post the screenshot

No, it's like a filter for gunk you unwillingly take in while accessing the Internet.

Edit: Oh...you mean like re-installing Windows? Yeah, I'm almost possitive the will happen. The Prefetch thing is a lot easier cuz like I said, it removes all the gunk.

Get spy sweeper. If it's a free version or demo trial whatever, then:

Run it, and it'll find all the bad stuff(presumably).

Record the registry keys of each piece of malware on your computer.

Start > Run > type in "regedit"
ctrl+f for those registry keys, then delete them when you find them.

Can take a while, but that's the best way to do it for free.

And while you're running spy sweeper, disable your internet and unplug the cable.
