My friend just gifted me a new Japanese GameCube Controller but soon after using it I realized that when I flik to one direction it doesn't go back to neutral but it goes past it. This makes me accidentally pivit grab and it's really frustrating. Does anyone know of a way I can fix this?

(This is also my first GC controller so I'm a bit of a newbie at this kinda stuff)

My best suggestion is that you just keep playing with it to break it in. It might stop eventually.

There could be a way to take the controller apart to adjust things mechanically, but that's not my forte.
