Hello, i was hoping to get some help with playing the smash bros. game. Normally i would play with Little Mac and do my best to win. thing is that never happens. i was told by a friend that i needed to broaded my character selection. i agree with on that, but the problem is i do not know the correct way to play the new characters i want to play. i also believe that was the problem with Little Mac. i was hoping that if i put the list of characters that i want to play someone could give some tips or advice on how to play the characters. now i know it is alot of characters but i plan on learning them the best way i can.
- Little Mac
- Robin
- Duck Hunt
- Greninja
- Pac-Man
- Ganadorf
Also i wanted to know if the amiibos are good to practice with, and if so which ones should i buy to use for these characters. i heard that they adapt to the way that you play which would be a better alterative to the CPU.
Please and Thank you
Man, I main Little Mac, playing him online can be DIFFICULT, especially if you don't have a grasp on other characters. For example, I also play a lot of Link. If I'm up against another Little Mac when I'm Link, I feel bad for that Little Mac. I know his character's moves and ranges, and I know the best counters and ways to nullify his get-back in the air cause I've seen them all happen. Remember when getting back on with little mac against better players: B-Forward, Counter, and air dodge are all essential. AND STAY OUT OF GRAB RANGE BY THE EDGE. And get ready to grab them when they counter too. Outrange them with your forward a combo and well timed (and careful not to kill yourself) Jolt Haymakers and have a blast. But from your current telling of events, you do need to broaden your characters, especially in matches against Little Mac, so you can see what Little Mac has to take those characters out when he stops you so you can use it against others later. Also never forget your downsmash is a good way to punish rolls and hit people trying to sneak up behind you, B Forward's away from opponents (but not over the edge) are quick maneuverability if you need to escape, and holding smash attacks, especially in team battles, with Mac makes more sense than a lot of characters because you can soak a hit and hit back with your smash against a lot of weaker/faster moves.
As for the amiibos. They're fun. Are they drastically better than a CPU opponent? I think so, but it's subjective enough my advice would be buy one you really like the model and look to a point you want that little figurine anyway (Possibly even Little Mac), play against it and see how you feel about it yourself.
If you liked my Little Mac primer, I'll do another one of your characters in a later post.
