Yeah it must have been an error or something my previous discussion got locked, well anyway im just here to post what everyone has been thinking.

Well you see i have disliked MLG for a while now, but i have respected their ability to bring the smashing community together. There are many reasons why I, and the rest of the smashing community should hate mlg.

They first shun smash, leaving most of the space and recognition for Halo. They have some more and some less blatan dis regards for the smashing community. Many people host tournaments, have a much more friendly enviroment while still having a very large smashing community. FC was probably the best example of this. A player could actually play friendly matches, and the results were recorded and posted on such websites as Youtube and fileshare for free.

MLG only allows for a minut amount of smashing to actually take place, while charging a large fee for their mainly halo venue. This would deter alot of people from traveling to the events, with the exception for a very few number of people who recieved stipends and such. Then they offered "Video on Demand" for only 25$. You could get all the most recent and intense smash matches to date.

((First they had the Anaheim finals, then they had a whole bunch of matches from such venues as MLG Las Vegas, to Orlando.))

Now if the statement above was actually true, then the 25$ i spent on VOD might actually be worth it. But the fact of the matter is people could bootleg these smash matches much faster than they would ever get posted, if they did get posted. I really wonder how people in Halo would react if they didnt get to see there Las Vegas matches, or some of their final matches. They probably would be content with the money that they spent or MLG for that matter. The only thing VOD could offer is live smash. But 90% of the live action was all halo, and often very important smash matches could be interrupted by the face of some pasty oily nerd getting ready to prepare for a halo match. Ive seen this happen way too often.

Also MLG is notorious for not having awarded many players in the smash community their dues. They have often not given pros any money they were due at all.

They also signed a contract with USA television network, but they only show Halo , they must really think highly of smash. MLG says they are preparing for something big for the smashing community to look forward to in 2007. I think that this"big thing" they are cracking up is definently an Apology letter to the smash community for stepping all over them and then dropping them completley for Halo.
