I know how to desynch and how to wobble. I can win SCC for sure now, right?

There are too many people with this mindset. People (n00bs, mainly) that see ICs and hear about desynching/wobbling automatically think that they are instant win tactics and will automatically get them a victory when, obviously, it won't. What should we do about these kinds of people? :(

LOL, I thought that you actually thought that for a sec.

Play Captain Falcon, Samus or Marth. It'll solve everything.

Who cares?

People need to start somewhere. Variations of this idea happen with every other character. Once they can't win a single game they'll come to reality. I don't see the problem.

At the very least, they need to be educated beforehand, or at least soon after they start spouting that nonsense.

And I see this more often then Marth and the Ken Combo, or Fox and waveshining. Its literally everywhere.

And I'm like 3 hours from Raleigh, IIRC. ;_; I was at MP Jubilee though, were you there?

I'm like an hour and a half from Charlotte, though.

Nope, I wasn't at Jubilee.

And yeah, that mindset is everywhere. Once they realize that ICs AREN'T easy-mode, though, some of them give up and move on to other characters.

ICs are definitely not easy mode...2nd hardest after Fox, IMO.

And I just picked up ICs like a week ago, but I'm not great...Yeah, I can wobble and desynch, who can't? I can't use them effectively in a match though, I can just barely use them in a battle against my 9 year old brother. And I can only do basic desynching, like Shielded Ice Block to throw and crap like that.

Nanapult is making me pull my hair out ;_;

Nanapult is so evil...I saw the cloud combo and I can do everything but the **** Nanapult at the end...;_;

And this topic is getting off topic soo...umm...lets get it back on track.

Lets write a rant on why ICs are not the easy way to winning any tournaments or something ^_~

fox and ic aren't THAT hard to learn, :p. try the low tier djc characters (mewtwo, ness, and yoshi.) now THERE'S a hard character to play.

but yeah, you're right about those false mindsets. just let them get pwned and be on with it.

LOL I secondary Ness. I used to main him and Mewtwo in addition to IC, GaW, and Ylink but I decided to devote my time to my current mains, mostly to IC.

Also, the fact that they are crappy characters gives a false sense of heightened difficulty. Don't get me wrong. They're all pretty technical characters but not as technical as IC. They're just harder to implement because they're bad.

That being said, the three characters that you mentioned have LOTS of potential and could be amazing if they got their stats fixed and got a few tweaks to their movesets.

here's what you do. you **** them in a match and then maybe they'll cry their way back to smashboards and actually LEARN how to play the IC's.

or maybe they'll just give up on the IC's and learn to play someone who requires less dedication. If you dont have that dedication then you really cant play the IC's well enough to beat much of anybody. Hell, even us dedicated kids struggle at tournies.

but in all honesty, i stand by my first sentence. that is the solution to the problem

I have a lot of trouble playing Falcon effectively, I mean none of it is that hard but its definitely difficult to learn to combo that way. I think a lot of my trouble stems from the fact that I dont really like his play style.

Except you're not going to win Super Champ Combo, because *I'm* going and I can OBVIOUSLY infinite better than you, so I'm going to get first.

You can have second though. You seem like an alright guy.

Except that I'm going and I brought back Fox to win SCC!!!

Man, everyone can wobble well cept me, I just can't do it.

Oddly, right when I learned how to do it, I could do it right away, and now I can't do it anymore, while people like Cort Chu Wobbles and even people around NJ who aren't that good can do it well. I guess ICs are just one of those characters I can't use well.

ICs are much harder than fox
Truth... playing ICs require a lot more precision in your button pressing, IMO... with Fox, all you have to do (in a simple sense) is shffl, shine combo, read DI, and ledgeguard... when I play ICs, I find it much harder to think about a complete game... most of the time I'm just going for a grab (which is why I don't play ICs to win) to do something... it's obvious that desynching and wobbling by itself won't get you very far, but until you see some good IC players, I guess people won't understand...

IC combos > Fox combos
