I just had a thought...

While we might not exactly have a win/loss record for online, do you believe that maybe our in-game VS. Record would keep track of that stuff anyway? With the character you play with I mean, where it keeps his KOs and such. Think they would count the KOs from online matches? Or even Victories and Losses with the character? Or maybe make a separate section for it within the game that shows your online record that only you can see?

Just some thoughts...=\

it says on the "play with anyone" part of the site, that "whether you win or lose, it dosen't matter." I don't know if Sakurai means that literally; or the fact that you really don't gain any bragging rights from beating people online... I guess we'll have to wait for more info.

Know what you probably might be right. I think think game may record how many times you've been online, how many matches you've played and won/loss. That is an interesting thought. Good work.

It means just what it says...

You don't know who your opponent is so you can only say..."I beat...someone"

It also keeps no record

Funny thing was this thought occurred to me when I was looking at my VS. Records in Melee today. I don't see why they wouldn't count your Wins/Losses in the VS. Records, after all, it is still VS. Just online, it could be added onto your in-game record or it could be a completely different portion within that characters' record.

It also keeps no record
Well, it may not keep any record ONLINE but, in the VS. Records of the game itself it's a possibility that it'll keep track of your Wins/Losses in VS matches period, even if they were online or not. And, if they don't count as one then they'd make a small different section that's still within that characters' records. What I'm saying is, it doesn't keep track of your Wins/Losses but in fact, of the characters' Wins/Losses that you've played with.

I'm glad that you don't get a record. The people wouldn't want a bad record so they would shut off the wii. That would really stink. It works out that when you battle with your friends you get the record because you know that your friends won't dissconnect. I'm not sure that you will get a record with friends but it would make sense
