I Heard This Song In My Dream...

I heard this song in my dream last night and remembered it when I woke up, I then hummed it while on my computer and made a song out of it.

Its happened to some guy from the Beatles. He woke up with I song stuck in his head and wrote it down to create the hit "Yesterday"

Whenever I remember music from my dreams, I can only latch on to the feel of the song. I can never get the actual notes. I can remember remembering every single note, and the chords, and every little detail of the song, but I can't remember the actual notes themselves, if you know what I mean.

Thanks. I know it's hard to believe that I composed all the notes by ear from my dream, but I remembered the melody and the drums clearly when I woke up. I hummed it when I woke up and tried my best to make the notes precision as it was in my dream.

That's pretty amazing. I've been able to get images out of my dreams, but never songs, especially whole ones. Very neat.

I liked the song a lot, especially the reverb on the piano.

Sometimes I'll be able to hear songs, but my dreams usually consist of whacked out imagery and nonsensical combinations of objects. A quote my dream I've posted on these boards for an example:

I converse with Travis's father, telling him that we're having dinner at my grandmother's house. He says, "Fragilleenay", I said, "What?". He responds, "I said, 'I'm fine with that.', Did I stutter?". Soon after that, him and his girlfriend that appeared out of nowhere show me to their backyard, to show me how the tables have grown so well this year.

A lot of the time I won't remember any dialog at all, and is mostly visual. Sometimes, however, I'm lucky enough to have all senses in action, and that's when it gets memorable.
