I have no idea if everyone already know this or not

Hey guys, like the title says, I have no idea if what I am going to say is already widely known or not but here it is. When someone misses a tech on a platform and you are underneath them, I found that a really good option is to actually do a reset with falco's upair. If you fast fall it so that you only get the first hit of it, it is the equivalent to a jab reset. From there you can follow up with whatever you want (I usually do a shine->waveland but you can do a waveland->grab or whatever you desire). Moral of the story: Falco's upair can be a reset for missed techs on platforms.

I'm pretty sure that this is known. Most players, even if they are not aware that a move can "jab reset", can easily react to it when it happens and follow up.

Typically the league of Falco prefers to dair or bair or shine -> waveland missed techs though (Falco flowchart), seeing as a jab reset on a platform gives your opponent more time to adjust to the situation, which you don't want.

I've heard shining a missed tech can sometimes cause the opponent to go into that super floaty state where they're rising up in what looks like the standing animation. Up-air reset sounds like a really good way to prevent this, but I don't think it's happened to me recently.

pretty sure that has to do with the 7% rule, same for sheik's ftilt.

there's a post about it around here somewhere but I'm pretty sure the gist of it is that if you hit your opponent with a move that launches and does less than 7% (maybe inclusive, idk) when they're in the knocked down state then they sort of just get off the ground and aren't really ever in hitstun. It's weird. Maybe some strange anti-spam mechanics

IIRC if falco's shine is fresh then this never happens but it's a move you use a lot so once it stales and loses 1 or 2% this happens. Don't quote me on the hard numbers but the idea correct

Yea, I think shine does 8% fresh. Makes sense why it used to happen to me but not anymore. I guess I just don't let my shine get as stale (not really on purpose but it happens).
