What types of pain are there?

Being a philosophical writer, I ponder pointless stuff, and in my novel I'm exploring the different types of emotional pain that result in changing a person. I'm trying to come up with six concrete types of "pain" that affect a person, but recently, I've been stumped.

I was hoping to discuss this. Please help me out here.

The best I have is:

1. things involving the "ego". Jealousy, bad self-esteem, etc.
2. fear
3. loss (items, people, purpose)
4. empathy (kind of altruistic, feeling other people's pain.
5. guilt
6. loneliness

This is loose, and one factor might cover a broader sense of specific types of pain than another factor might. For example, loneliness may fit with different examples than empathy may.

Discuss. I'm stumped.

Overstimulation? I think it's a cause of pain rather than the pain itself. Overstimulation exists because we don't know if we can get everything done, beat everything we have to face. We fear failure.

So I'd say that's a cause, a specific one, of fear, similar to "pressure". I hadn't thought of it before though, so thanks.

That could fit in both fear or loss, I believe. One might fear their belief to be wrong, or they could lose it all together and be lost. Moreover, "they have lost a purpose" spiritually. Though, it can be renewed.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
