I hate Ganon's tilt up-a move.

Became interested in Ganon today. As I was playing with friends, it came around that "Ganon sucked - terrible - uber-slow" etc etc...
I always loved the character Ganondorf in Zelda games, but I gotta admit I didn't touch him at all in Melee. Now hearing all of this today made me want to prove them the opposite, and so I started playing and practicing with him.

Didn't take me long before I could beat level 9 comps no problem. Didn't try against human players yet.

I think Ganon has more difficulty against opponents who can launch stuff, like Link, Snake, Lucas... Ganon is painfully slow and when showered by whatever projectiles, it's sometimes hard to move in.

Anyways, it's manageable. And I find Ganon to be quite good, you just need to time everything perfectly. His neutral B is insane, though rarely used, I've killed someone whom after the hit was at 41% only and got off limits sideways.

I've seen a pretty good thread about his moves here, so I won't post everything all over again.

I just want to say that is tilt-up A is just plain bad. Why? It's a darn smash, except it freaking charges automatically for a good 2 seconds and you can't cancel it or launch it beforehands or whatever. Result? Almost useless. And you know, when you make the mistake of launching it when you actually wanted to do the REAL up smash, well, you're screwed.

A part from that, I'll be practicing more with Ganon, I like him. I'll try to make him my third, first and second being Lucas and Ness. Yup, the playstyle changes a lotttttttttttttttt.

That's what the C-stick is for... and yes, the up tilt sucks.

I remember hitting with that move...once. It kills the enemy for sure, but's it's just not worth using.

The only good thing about his up tilt is the fact that it sucks you in if you're too far, or blows you away if you're too close.

But yeah, it's awful. XD

One of my friends mains Ganondorf, and he sometimes uses the utilt to pseudo-edgeguard by utilting a few feet away from the edge.

Although it's avoidable, it's a decent mindgame against some people who think that his utilt has a wide hitbox or something.

The Volcano Kick isn't for everyone.
Just be happy its been improved from the last game.

I actually love the move. Its exciting to hear people squeel when they get sucked into it and they don't entirely expect it.

Hell no, man, Volcano Kick is really awesome. He's kicking the floor and the floor just freakin' explodes. And hitting with it is priceless and pretty much the penultimate move (together with the Warlock Punch).

Hah, well put.

I agree, this attack is not for 1-1 play which most tournaments are based on, but, i've been playing a lot of 1-1 matches and this move has killed a few more times than your standard 'once in a great moon.'

I mean.. King DDD's super duper hop jump is fodder for Warloc Punch (seriously)
And opponents coming back from the edge (via roll or standing up) will roll right into this. Theres no giant man-bear-pig roar to announce his attack (Danget Odin! Now I wana watch southpark!)

I love the buff to the move, really, I do.
But these people are also right, this isn't a move you can spam in Brawl for good results, its a High Risk Greater Reward type attack.
To be used sparingly, or not at all.

But 2 seconds for the tilt in a slower smash game doesnt really seem that slow to me . So i think you're right, its almost useless, now, anyways. I'm sure practice could lead to implementing this into some sort of situation. This is where practice comes in.

I think that move is great for laughs, I always laugh when I hit an opponent with it.

the move is best used in 3 or 4 player brawls. i usually get close to a group of people killing each other and in the confusion one either pops out or rolls out right into hell itself. in 1 on 1s it can be used when an opponent is trying to recover, if they air dodge they fall into the abyss, if they don't, well, you know.

also, this move and team battle go hand in hand. i usually get my teamate to help me elimate one dude first in a stock match. then, we concentrate on being d-bags. he usually grabs em, holds em a bit, then throws em right into the move.

finally, bellosom. nuff said.
