I feel sorry for Sakurai. He works hard for over a year, makes tougher decisions than any of us will make, survives the ridicule from two delays, and is responsible for pioneering one of the most anticipated games in the past 6 years.

Then when his hard work and sweat finally rolls out into the public, it's bombarded with bad reviews and disappointed fans.

Shouldn't you all (though not exactly all) feel ashamed? Do any of you know what it is like in the world of producing games? No! Do you realize how difficult it is to please each and every fan? No!

You know you'll end up loving this game, just like we did in Melee. Melee had plenty of clones; did we complain? Sure, but not for long. Way back when, I remember saying, "What in the world is Game and Watch? And who are those two ****** eskimos? I'll never play them! What silly characters!"

And now listen to us, "R.O.B!? That's the dumbest character I've ever seen! And what's this? Wolf has the same Final Smash as Fox? CLONE!!!"

I'm sorry I had to say what all optimists are saying right now, and this definitely does not apply to everyone at these wonderful boards, but take heed of my words. We'll all grow to love this game as we did Melee, and I think it has more ability to grow because of its online capabilities.

i've loved this game since day one and i still do. i'll admit R.O.B. didnt really appeal to me and i thought he wasnt that good of a choice, but really he is. he's played a major role with nintendo in the past just like Game & Watch, Pit, & Ice Climbers. he's a retro character, and im sure a lot of people will be exctied to play as him. i am! i just think people should appreciate brawl for what it is, not bash it just because you dont like one thing about it.
Sakurai isnt perfect but he did his best. and you know why? BECAUSE HE LOVES HIS FANS
he may not have pleased everybody, but who knows? there could've been a problem with certain characters being in, like Geno (if that rumor is real)
the point is he loves us and he gave us a highly anticipated game that i still believe will live up to its hype. SSBB = win.

yes, the game will be good, but not perfect. If it were perfect, it would've been made by God himself.

And no, i don't feel ashamed that I'm still a bit disappointed with the roster. My most-wanted character didn't get in, so of course I'm gonna be disappointed, but I'll still play Brawl and get over it. My point, however, is that you going around and telling people that they should be ashamed for having opinions is just as bad as complaining (you're complaining about complaining right now, and that's ten times worse...)

I agree with you that people on this forum are taking their anger out on poor Sakurai...and while I may not be entirely satisfied with it....actually...what am I complaining about? I got all three of my mains back (Marth, Peach and Ness) so I'm satisfied with it XD I still know I'm going to LOVE this game. I mean...when I look back at Melee, if I saw the roster for Melee before I bought it I'd feel the same. "Dr. Mario? Pichu? Mr. Game and Watch?!"

I know Brawl will be AMAZING, and I'm fairly certain most of the people on this site do too. Obviously it's natural for some of us to react to the roster (although some here do love the roster or at least accept it willingly) with anger towards Sakurai, but it's not his fault in the slightest. He's still giving us an amazing game...so don't take it out on him.

As a video game designer, he shouldn't really expect to please all fans. What was the saying, in pleasing everyone, you please no one? The Sakurai bashing in these forums is ridiculous, but expected, since the game was just released. Think of it this way: it seems like a lot of people hate Sakurai on these boards, but those who support him are probably just too busy playing Smash to post :b.
