Im a WFT player...and I do the DI out of, roll out of, double jump out of PK Fire....and then he rolls away right as I go grab or aerial... most of the time it not even me being hit by it but dodging it and getting hit or grabbed that gets all of these Nesses their wins.....an NO I already tried complaining on my character MU thread....they arent doing Ness right now and I dont feel like waiting on what amounts to chance.

You should not be getting hit by PK Fire from anything other than a punish. It is a pretty predictable move and easily shielded/powershielded, with a decent amount of cooldown. It's on you to not leave PK Fire open as a good option for the Ness. If you watch a Ness against a great player, you will rarely see PK Fire being thrown around. Because it won't work, it'll get shielded and the Ness will get punished. In a sense, the answer to people who complain about PK Fire is: git gud.

If you get hit by the move, why exactly do you think you have the frame advantage on Ness? From what I understand, you're saying to get burned, DI out, and wonder why he's able to retreat before you hit him. He landed the move, he shouldn't be punished for it.

And if you're blocking/dodging PKF and not able to punish Ness, you are doing something VERY wrong. That thing has a year of lag on it.

PKF is literally one of the worst neutral projectiles in the game. Learn to not get hit by projectiles. It has tons of startup, tons of lag, and unrealistically short range for a projectile. Yeah, the payout prevents it from being completely bad, but compared to things like arrows, lasers, and explosive cans, PKF really shouldn't be hitting you that much to begin with unless you're being EXTREMELY predictable.

Getting out is a big deal if you don't want to break your 3DS. But yeah, PK Fire sucks. No matter what you do, you get punished.

If you're consistently getting hit by the move your approach is too linear and therefore predictable. And if you get hit by the fire, it's too late for a follow-up/punish, so stop trying.

Your post is a bit unclear, but it seems that you're also complaining that most Nesses easily turn grabs into wins - yes, that's how Ness works. Get back to fundamentals and work on spacing, spot dodging and jabbing to counter the grab.

That's like saying winning with Ken in Street Fighter is mostly owed to shroyuken. Of course it is, that's a major part of his bread and butter.

I don't really know what else to say. I have a pocket Ness and I definitely don't spam it, but if the opportunity is there I take it. It's mostly against characters who rely on their ground game to do real work, like a WFT.

I was properly shielding it and ran to grab or dash attack.

then you're simply too slow. you don't even need to PS it to get something.
also, Ness can't hit you if you dodge it, unless you roll into it or it ignites on a stage hurtbox.

sit there and charge Sun.
Make them afraid of committing to PKF.

or jump over it with heading.
