I feel ******** for this, but how do you approach CPUs?

Specifically Marth. I play Captain Falcon mostly, and I simply cannot approach him. If i try to dash grab i get tipper jabbed CONSTANTLY, if i try to shffl an aerial i get up tilted. It seems the only way is to wait for him to get onto a platform then grab when he drops down.

How bad am I? Is there any hope for me? I only just started playing Melee pretty recently.

The answer is don't play against CPUs (at levels 4-9). They repeat the same patterns. Levels 1-3 are okay for practicing combos and tech skill

Marths in real games don't do that because it's easy for fast Falcons to punish. Those CPUs detect when you enter their range and do it automatically so you'll have problems approaching them.

Just practice against lvls 1-3 because of their DI. Get to a place where you can play against others ASAP. The only thing I do when I play melee alone is grind techskill or combo.
