Project Needlemouse had been confirmed as "Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1." Now THIS Sonic game ACTUALLY TAKES PLACE after the events of Sonic & Knuckles.

And that means that Sonic Adventure did not.

I f**king knew it. I knew it the whole f**king time. S**t just didn't add up between those two games. Humans, the size difference of Angel Island in the two games, the lack of a Hidden Palace, this random temple that was supposed to be on the Angel Island but ends up on earth as part of a ruin...

and then this whole Robotnik vs. GUN stuff when GUN obviously existed but it didn't even though the games supposedly took place on Earth...

But yeah... Sonic 4. Let's get it.

We all knew it, we were just talking about it in the social thread lol.

Im kinda disappointed that its dlc...not everyone has that kind of resource. :( but hey, its still another sonic game to do play. Unlike many, i didnt despise any of the Sonic games, but i think Sonic 4 will answer many people's pleas who hated most of Sonic's modern games and wanted him to transition back to the 2D games. Either way, im gonna play it and love it, thats all i'll say.

MarKO. It's simple, really.

Now SA1 will take place after Sonic 4. The end.

I was never really a fan of Sonic, but as a fan of the King of Fighters series of games I'd like to think that the two series are analogous in some ways, so that I can say I can sympathize. If you aren't familiar with KoF, feel free to not read any of the below since it won't make any sense, unless you just want to appreciate how much of a tremendous nerd I am.

King of Fighters has developed an increasingly ridiculous storyline and they've had several poorly received games that seemed to be fluffed up by gimmicky mechanics, and there's a truckload of new characters every other game.

Now, aside from the weird mechanic changes from game to game (mainly the whole striker thing, screw that), I actually enjoy how absurd the storyline's twists and turns get, like some sort of bad anime you just can't stop watching. Same thing with the characters. 90% of them have nothing to do with the storyline and are pumped so full of attitude and personality there's almost no space for an actual fighting game character to fit in, but I also enjoy this.

As far as I know, the Sonic series has been implementing the same things in their own games. But I always thought that was the whole point of KoF. They mixed together a bunch of SNK games that were all trying to not be Street Fighter, so KoF became this game that was so NOT Street Fighter that was practically the entire point. Hardly any ethnic stereotypes or actual fighting styles with some basis in reality.

But Sonic? I've only SEEN later Sonic games, but from what I remember, Sonic was a blue hedgehog(?) that ran really fast and was kind of a hippie. Now, what I've SEEN are Sonic going Super Saiyan and Sonic becoming a Werehog(?) and I am very confused as to how they got there.

So if this new Sonic game is going back to it's roots, I can only imagine this would be as exciting for Sonic fans as KoF 2k2 UM was for KoF fans after KoF2k1 or XII.

Holy fu- -fangasm-
Is this going to be on the Wii/DS, by chance? @.@ Because I will be majorly p****d if it's not.

EDIT: YESSSSS WiiWare!
This looks like the first promising Sonic game in a looooong while. The one thing that really ticks me off is that it's episodic, though. :/

Why do I have a feeling this is going to be another bad game that gets too much hype? Although I said the same thing when Sonic Unleashed came out, lol. That game was a lot better than I thought, except for the night levels. Kinda funny, because I havenOt been able to play my old Sonic games for a while because my brother was borrowing them, so I got to play them today. They never get old, lol.

It's reasonable.

Unfortunately, the hype's already started, and hundreds of morons are clamoring for more info on the game.

I'm just waiting for the ****-storm of disappointment.
