I could use some help

So I entered my first tournament a couple of weeks ago, bursting with confidence, thinking that I would smash the competition.

I ended up losing on the first bracket

Any tips, tricks, or recommendations for competitive smash? I'm clearly not ready.

Is there anything you noticed yourself struggling with? I need more information than what was provided. Don't worry about it though. I lost my first bracket match at my first tournament as well. I'm sure the majority of people do.

Is there anything you noticed yourself struggling with? I need more information than what was provided. Don't worry about it though. I lost my first bracket match at my first tournament as well. I'm sure the majority of people do.

I did quite a few things wrong, but overall, I think the reason why I did so poorly is because I don't have a complete grasp on things like combos, edge-gaurding. I have little knowledge on hitboxes and hit-lag, basically the more technical things.

I also mistakingly used characters that I'm not too good with, I'll defenitely avoid that next time

Also, I forgot to mention that it was a smash 4 tourney
