Sup, Kenta here again. I have decided to switch mains from sheik to fox. But he is super fast and I'm getting used to moving my fingers that fast. L canceling is not as hard since i have been practicing it. But chain grabbing and continuing fast paced combos with him is really hard. Anyone have tips for getting better with fox?

Waveshine grab up throw up air will get you far at beginner level if you're smart about it (like dash back and forth once so that they miss a move)

I know how to up throw to up air. I struggle to wave shine. And I want to learn more intermediate techniques. Sorry I thought there were more beginners techniques I don't know about.

Easiest combo in the game is dash attack -> u-tilt -> uair/bair.

A few easy combos are SHFFL nair -> dash and do any appropriate aerial or jump-cancelled up-smash. Sometimes you can combo drill -> jab -> up-smash on middleweights and floaties.

Make sure to fast fall your full jump and double jump aerials too. This will let you get back to the ground sooner so that you can extend your combos.

When you get more advanced, try drill -> waveshine -> up-smash. Or on fast fallers, u-throw -> u-tilt -> regrab, etc.

You stated that you're picking up Fox. I'm assuming that you're still new to using him. Before practicing combos, I'd recommend actually getting down movement and execution. (SH N-air > shine > SH N-air as fast as you can without messing up)
When you think you have everything down, that's when you start to learn combos.
For combos, I personally use SH falling U-air to U-tilt/ another U-air. You do whatever you want from there. U-air is actually a decent combo starter. Just be careful about staling it.

Waveshining is a basic fox fundamental, but it is hard to learn. There's a certain rhythm that has to be learned. I think that waveshining with x and dragging your finger across the a button to the b button helps a ton. Also, short hop nair is super good, practice that. Fox's short hop is the toughest because he has the least frames of jump squat (3), and short hopping requires you to let go of jump before jump squat ends.
