I am in the market for a 2tb external. My budget is around $180, but I prefer not to buy anything over $99.99 as a starting price. I have done quite a bit of research thusfar but it seems most drives in this area have heating problems.
I wouldn't mind stepping down to 1tb, but 2 tb seems the best for long-term goals, especially since I can just cabbage the drive if the encasing dies.
Anyways I'm looking for suggestions as what to get. I will be moving into a dorm in the next month so I prefer to get my hands on one of the more compact models, but if they have heating issues I'm happy to invest in a more bulky encasing.
