I started playing melee around june of last year. I used to be able to beat my friends and others but I was basically Borp. (I had no tech skill at all) I picked up falco a few months ago and I have great tech skill now but I just suck at the game I waveshine and waveland on platforms, but those same guys at locals who I could beat can beat me now. Help PLS

No offense but that's a stupid question. if you are physically able to play falco but you are unable to use the moves you learned on a real person...learn how to use the moves you learned on a real person.

Yes i agree with Dark you should practice them on real people first.Maybe try playing some friendlies at the locals and trying it on them then.It could be that you havent learned the fundamentals of falco because you are trying to apply the same ideas from your old main.It might also be that you are just not that good at falco yet?if you have more questions feel free to ask but i warn you that some of my answers may be stupid as i just started playing competitively a couple weeks ago.

I think a good falco comes down to having a good approach. As a puff player, I have played against a lot of falcos and a lot of their approaches are really readable (laser, laser, short hop nair, bair, shine, or grab). Practice your neutral game, as these approaches are easily stopped by every character, not just puff. Spot dodge is a good mixup, especially if your opponent shield grabs a lot. Falco's short hop bair also auto cancels, so take advantage of that when you can. As long as you can avoid grabs and keep up good pressure for the whole match, you should be ok.
