So, my mom said I could have a party tomorrow, and I was thinking about getting my friends (And my girlfriend) Chinese food and making them a devil's food cake!

Sound good?

What kind of snacks should we buy, or is Chinese food (e.g. General Tso's Chicken, Lo Mein, etc,) okay?

Plus my friend Jim is bringing his Wii (so i can practice on it until the 11th, when I get my very own!)

Stamping your library books.
Buy a pinata, and fill it to the brim with pork fried rice. Your party shall go down as the most badass party in the history of badassery.

Zook, that was funny! :)
Well, my friend Steve LOVES (sorry for caps) pork fried rice, yet I can't see him swatting a pianata! Lol!
Plus I have my girlfriend to worry about, as she's Jewish (i'm not but her parents say it's okay as we've been dating for almost 2 years, and been friends like since I was in 8th grade)

She can't have pork as a result, so is chicken or shrimp fried rice okay??

*Also, my gf is gonna turn 20 8 days b4 I turn 18 (my b-day is nov. 29th)

As long as she's not a vegeterian, I do not see a problem with chicken or shrimp dishes.

You should also get Sweet and sour chicken and the fried chicken wings (General Tso's i think it's called).

Well, Allie (my gf) is Not a vegan/vegetarian, I am just saying, we have too much chicken dishes, what with general tso's (i can eat a whole quart by myself, Lol!) , sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice.

How about *crab rangoons or shrimp lo mein?

*They're wontons stuffed with crab meat, scallions and cream cheese, yum!

Any snacking ideas or is Chinese and the cake enough

No, it's not my birthday yet, Fyi.

Well, seeing as the only ppl over 21 will be my mom, sister and my brother-in-law, I guess soda..... like Mountain Dew perhaps?
Orange crush is always a winner. Too bad Iced Tea isn't considered a soft drink. Mountain Dew is also good.

Whats funny about the notion of "soft" drinks is that they are not "soft" at all. Soft drinks in my experience must be carbonated.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_drink

"The term soft drink (more commonly known as soda, pop, or soda pop in parts of the United States and Canada, or fizzy drinks in the U.K.[1]) refers to carbonated drinks that do not contain alcohol. The name "soft drink" specifies a lack of alcohol by way of contrast to the term "hard drink" and the term "drink", the latter of which is nominally neutral but often carries connotations of alcoholic content. Beverages like colas, sparkling water, lemonade, squash, and fruit punch are among the most common types of soft drinks, while hot chocolate, tea, coffee, milk, tap water, alcohol, and milkshakes do not fall into this classification."

What are All dressed chips? I am not from Canada, though I do have some French-Canadian ancestry.
How about Sea Salt and Vinegar? (my fave)

They taste similar to barbeque chips in my opinion. My friend introduced me to all dressed chips, I was skeptical when I tried it but then I fell in love with it!
You should buy a bag and try it out! If you love barbeque flavoured chips, then I'm sure that you'd love all dressed too!

Kettle Chips are also a favorite.

They should be, check your local Walmart or shopping/grocery center! Lol all dressed up.

Yes, get some kettle chips too. I think they are a bit more expensive but taste different (better).

For the chinese food, get the ribs, wonton soup and egg rolls! Don't they also have 'party platters' too?

Let's see: I do have a Wal-Mart near me, and I do like kettle cooked. You're right, they taste Way different than regular chips.

Well I have 8 friends, not counting me who r coming over:

Jim S.
Jim S (A different Jim)
Eli
Kelsey
Allie (my gf, but shes jewish so she cant have pork)
Jamie
Steph
Adam
and Adam's gf (Gabby.... i think is her name, but theyre only staying 1/2 hr)

Anyways, u think I should get:
General Tso's Chicken $12.95
An egg roll for everyone (except for Allie, maybe a spring roll) theyre $1.90 each
Spareribs (boneless or regular?) $5.95
Quart or pint of wonton soup?
Quart of shrimp lo mein $8.95

What else? *my mom said not to go over $60 u.s.
Just tell me, and I'll figure the amount

Oh and no they don't have platters, sry!
