i am a shame to yoshi no more

what is the point of me playing yoshi anymore, i have just been dissed in the highest regard and do not deserve to congregate among you. i have not been able to pull off a win even against one of the lowest ranking peoples, and afterwords, when playing a higher ranking foe,my opponent commented on me as a camper, spammer and over all bad and boring player i do not deserve yoshi's greatness. here is his exact quote,


"I'm going to be honest here so don't take it offensively. You are the worst Yoshi player i have ever played. Did nothing but camp the first game. Kept me so bored throughout the matches i was praying that it would be over soon."

and by this, i give up

keep your head up.

post a video if you could so we can tell you what you're doing wrong. are you just camping with egg tosses? also, any advice given here should be taken as a grain of salt. the more you play the game you're only gonna get better. what character was your opponent? the most important thing with yoshi, and just smash in general: NEVER BE PREDICTIBLE. that's how you get whooped on.

ya, i used egg oss about 10 times in the first match, tryed to be un predictable, but im just not used to facing. (here you go meta) Diddy Kong. or playing on new pork city. so many walls i had to be careful. also, it's too late to get the video, i wish i had recorded it

Why were people playing on New Pork City to begin with? :O Camping is boring, but it is probably the most effective strategy to win in brawl.

i know, game battles just does random stages, 99% they end up being counter picks against yoshi or for my opponent. also, anyone willing to face me online and flame me for my lack of skill?

i lost again due to the stage, and it was to a g&W who only spammed 6 moves the entire game

Okay.....
1. Use the amount of flaming as motivation. I never like to see a person give up cause you're still learning.
2. From what you're saying, I would have to say that you need aggressiveness in your game. You played fox in melee, so you should know that defense isn't everything.
3. Record as many matches as you possibly can so we can help you out. Other people can find problems in your game much better than yourself.
4. Gamebattles is ****** in their choices for stages.
5. I'm willing to play you, but I don't play against people who disrespect themselves....

As for gamebattles... it's trash.. online play for competition should be merely a hobby than anything else. Listen to big he has a really good yoshi, take your time, rome wasn't built in a day.

ya, ive gotten over it, also, how the heck do i record matches(sorry for the n00b question)?

also, i can't find any competitions in my area that i have the schedule to attend, it sucks

To record, You need any kind of device such as a camcorder, capture device (dazzle), camera (that does video recording), any of the related. Record them and use a video editing program (moive maker) to separate them. Then upload to youtube and give us a link.

btw, you don't have to use gamebattles as the only place for competition. AllisBrawl, SmashBrawlRankings, OnlineBrawlCommunity, and so on. I play online competitively for the same reason. Just don't think that playing on a orange or red will show true skill.

ok, can u give a more detailed account of how to use them, im a techno geek but i dont usually play around with video stuff

1. What type of recorder do you have?
2. If you use a camcorder or digital recorder, plug the recorder into your comp after recording via USB, and place them onto your computer.
3. A program called windows movie maker that allows you to split the matches so that they don't get too long.
4. After making the vid (split up into matches) go to youtube and select upload to put up the videos of your matches.

cameras might have a video selection on them. Idk what you use so you'll have to find it. Just place the camera on something so that the tv screen is the only thing showing. You don't have to hold it while your playing, just place it on something to hold it up.

Put yoshi in training on your sig.

dang, i would post a vid now to just show my basic play style against a comp(i know it's different from a real player but this is to show what i use in different situations) but the batteries in my house are all being used on other things
ill get to it eventually

Hey Nocher don't give up! First of all who ever said you were the worst Yoshi he ever played WHAT AN *******! No one should bash ppl like that he should have been like good game and then tell you what flaws he saw in a friendly manner! Not hate on you, that stuff pisses me off! Like what Bigman said upload some vids so we can tell you whats goin on ppl on these threads are here to help! Personally i dont really like online the delay lag screws up my game big time if ppl want to play me seriously i have to do it in person. Thats another thing you were playing on New Pork City that is a terrible level! You cant prove anything on there!

DOnt be pissed about online. It doesnt rly show whos better unless there is no lag. Yoshi isnt a very lag friendly character either. I'll play u, i live close to arizona and as long as ur connection is alright, i can give u pointers (or u can give me pointers =) ) I stopped playing gamebattles cuz i kept getting gayed by lag.
