This game has totally met my expectation, before the game was released my 3DS XL was collecting dust. I like the fact that now its so much accessible to play against other players with online gaming becoming a center focus in today's gaming community. The funny thing is I haven't really sat down and tried out the newcomers like I thought I was going to do when I bought the game. I am enjoying my main's because of how much they have changed since Brawl and if you are wondering what characters I main, I use Link, Mario, Ness, and Sonic. I am really impressed with Link, he took Mario's number 1 spot now and I realized that this game is a bit more strategic, I couldn't be as aggressive with mario than I usually am. That is why Link is much better in this game than the last 2 entries.

So, I want to know what is your experience with the game so far? Here is a video of me elaborating more on my experience if you are interested.

Its really well down wish I saved my hammer for the 3 unique costumes... Can't find even 1.

I'm scared of Fox & Robin now after a beating from them. I've seen poor users of both but there was this fox that remindede off the beatings I'd get in melee from him as Link. No bueno.

Kinda horrible so far to be honest... I was super hyped for this game but... I'm just running into things that are getting on my nerves. Half of these things are my own fault and other things... Make me wish I waited for wii-u version.

From start to finish:

The Presentation starting the game up is really underwhelming, there's no opening, and the title screen has no music. The main 1 player game modes are lodged into a small section in the corner(Sakurai's Kid Icarus/Kirby Air Ride menu is really not that cute... )

The gameplay is okay but... I've been playing way too much melee so my instincts feel punched in the **** at every turn. And to top it off and I have to learn to cope with THAT and the original 3DS's horrible lack of comforting controls, and Fear of breaking my Circle pad. I'm really struggling to differenciate a smash attack/tilt/running attack at will.

That's made worse when things get fast paced and I KNOW what I want to do when, and the wrong things come out. At that point I'm thinking okay just gotta gitgud. And Knowing this I play For glory anyway. And then the lag makes all of those controls 10x worse, and when it's not lagging then I'm just fighting someone way more experienced than me to push my face into some more dirt.

And then when I just want to casually play with friends, just connection errors everywhere because we're scattered across the world. This series definitely wasn't designed to be an online game that's for sure.

Last but not least the characters, not whose in, not who isn't in. But having access to them... at first it was a good feeling thinking "alright I'm a kid in a candy store who do I pick there's like 30-something people here. But now I feel overwhelmed having too many choices at once, and at the same time I don't feel motivated to unlock half of the "secret" fighters.

I was extremely hyped for this game, to the point of trying really hard not to be a blind biased fanboy. And I do think it was worth my money, and I do see potential in it for long term play. But So far I've only come across frustrations and it's kind of bumming me out. Guess my game of the year is gonna have to be something else...

Will just keep it super casual till I get a wii-u + smashwii-u but after this, I'm no longer in rush for that.

edit: also smashrun wasn't fun.

I haven't fought a Fox yet surprisingly lol. I played one Robin and he was pretty good but I played against him using my Link and won but I can imagine at high levels of play he can be a beast.

Wow, I feel sorry for ya. I hope you stick in there and give it another go. There is something to like about the game and yes you are right about presentation, I'm not too thrilled about it either. When it comes to a Smash game I just want to play hours upon hours with friends. I have a 3DS XL so I don't have much of a problem with controls but my hands do cramp after an hour of play. The Wii U version is around the corner so it should get better for ya.

I totally agree. I've been playing Melee for 13 years, so I desperately wanted something new that wasn't Brawl, but this game is so different, that I sometimes realize that if it wasn't called smash bros. I wouldn't be playing it. If it wasn't for the hype from my friends, I probably would've given up from the insurmountable learning curve because of the massive changes between this game and all the rest in the series. And if it was any other game series, I would've tried it out before buying it and probably given up on it.
