How's the death of smash 3DS been going?

Wii U been out a while, are people still playing 3DS? If so which one is better?

Yes people are still playing it, if anything there's more people playing Smash 3DS considering it sold more than Smash Wii U. Which one is better? Wii U... Although there are things I prefer from 3DS (Classic mode not being butchered, some stages, etc.)

You can't assume it's dead if you aren't even keeping up with the scene. Of course people are playing it.

Online tournaments all the time, and sales for Smash 3DS are bigger than Smash Wii U.

3DS version has all the good modes anyway. It's Classic mode doesn't suck, Smash Run is actually fun unlike Smash Tour, Tournament Mode and replay uploading are garbage...

Only things SSBU has is Event Mode and then Crazy Orders doesn't suck. Still inferior to Smash Run for grinding though.
