too much rolling, and need work on recovering tatics/mindgames. i dont have time to comment much but since no one put anything ill at least put something.

EDIT: alright, the above was the original post, so i wont change anything and ill just add onto what i was saying earlier this morning now that i have time.

ok, i can clearly see that u guys are capable of wavedashing and dash dancing, HOWEVER, u guys are not using it at all!! instead u guys roll way too much, in fear of getting hit, im assuming u guys dont even want to lose against each other, therefore trying to stay more on the safe side using rolling.

this is bad, rolling (when vsing a highly experienced player) can easily take advantage of u, rolling has lag frames and moves slower than dash dancing or wavedashing. dash dancing and wavedashing are used to space ur self, u guys need to practice using it. and yes it requires a lot of trial and error, but if u guys dont use it properly, u will never learn or exceed in terms of skill/mindgames.

also when u throw, u guys arent suppose to toss him away and watch him come back, u guys need to chain it into something, thats what marth is all about.

Eh. Not too bad, but it seems you're just pointlessly being defensive. Mindlessly WDing and DDing doesn't work. The rolling isn't bad, but you put yourself into predictable spots. Furthermore it seems like you're more afraid of your opponent. Your friend there is a bit similar but he took a more controlling stance on things, honestly I expected him to come out better than you since he was more calm.

In any case you have a grasp on advanced tactics, you just need to learn how to use them correctly.

I appreciate the comments. I main luigi, and I'm only recently exploring marth as a second. With Luigi, there's a lot more room for somewhat mindless wavedashing and dash dancing--it goes a lot further and really messes with the other person's mind.

As for being afraid, it's probably because I am! :-p He's a **** good marth player, easily the best I know, and he's definitely better at watching the game and understanding what's going on than anyone i've ever seen--even Tope.

If anyone's interested, I'll upload a few more videos later, and try to showcase some of his talent. He was a little annoyed when the one video I uploaded was my victory.

First off, Marth can chainthrow himself with FThrow at low %'s; whenever you judge that your opponent is too far, try to use FSmash. (obviously, tipped is preferable)

Secondly, I suggest that both of you try to learn how to double FAir in a single short-hop; I saw one of you do it once, but I believe that was it.

Third, try to learn how to do the Ken Combo (FAir -> DAir for spike kill); I recall that there was an instant where one of you had the opportunity to do it but decided not to.

Fourth, UTilt is a good combo starter, even against Marth; both of you need to show more love for it.

Fifth, both of you guys' edgeguarding capabilities are lacking; instead of camping at the edge, try grabbing the edge for an edgehog or edgehopped BAir, which completely owns a fellow Marth.

-The main weakness there was too much rolling. That's the first thing I noticed.
-Your WD and DD game seemed a bit pointless as well, it seemed like you were just showing off.
-Teching and edgeguarding need a bit more work too.
-Chaingrabs. You need the chaingrabs. Marth chaingrabs himself (urk...) with fthrow, try it.
-SH Dfair. (See sig)

Other than that, not bad, but try to keep a bit more distance.

You know the little sprinkles you had on your ice
Rolling's not as bad a thing as they make it out to be. Unfortunately, if you use it too much, it can become predictable. It's a bad habit that's really hard to get out of. Try dash dancing every once in a while to throw them off... These are some suggestions, do what's most comfortable to you.
