How would you feel if the 3DS version was sprite based instead of 3D models? I know it would be weird, but it would have allowed a lot more to be possible on the 3DS. It wouldn't look as good, but it would still have that retro Nintendo feel.

I guess the main reason I bring this up, is because Sakurai mentioned that they ended up using sprites for the Flying Men in Magicant because it was less strain on the hardware. There was also a rumor a long time ago that the 3DS version would be a Retro themed Smash Bros. and the Wii U version would be modern themed. I always thought that would be interesting, to see a whole Smash Bros. game focused on just the retro Nintendo stuff. And Smash Bros. came out after the pixel age of gaming, so it would be interesting to see what official Nintendo sprites of all the Smash Bros. characters would look like.

Depends on whether or not the game would function well with sprite models...
I'm not fan of SmashFlash...

Me, neither. But this would be Nintendo / Sakurai making it. No offense to those who made Super Smash Flash, it's still well done, but I think Nintendo / Sakurai could still make it feel like a regular Smash Bros. game.

I'm sure the game itself would still be very good, but I much prefer the 3D models over sprites for Smash.

I always wanted an official sprite based Smash game. But that ship sailed after everyone got over the GBA. That's why I wasn't too ecstatic about the 3DS one since I got over wanting it a long time ago.
