I'd laugh and plus play as the Sonic chars against anyone who plays as any of the Kongs.

It'd suck, all of Sonic's additional characters have very weak personalities maybe aside from Eggman. Meanwhile the game could certainly do with some DKC representation.

Sakurai's only comment on the matter has been that he wasn't considering it during the game's initial development, however there are files in the 3DS version's data that suggest they might be planning it in the future. He has never specifically commented on character DLC either.

Blaze is also one of the better written Sonic characters. So yeah.

They did not assert that there would be no DLC. They asserted that they were not going to declare whether or not DLC would happen until they were finished with development. There is a subtle difference. That being said, it is probably safe to presume that it will not happen until we have confirmation, but treating your opinion as fact is fallacious as ****.
