We always talk about how Smash is just real life anime, with the various storylines, struggles, rivalries, etc. But how would you do it? What would you focus on, how would the show flow ? Would matches be on or off-screen? And son on.
If there were a competitive Smash 4 anime, I'd have it be that some episodes are more character focused and relaxed with no tournies and some episodes with tournaments and such. I'd have it mainly focus on the players and the development of the meta. I'd throw in some actual footage or animations getting as close to the actual footage as possible. Of course, you'd sort of have to change the pacing of the matches themselves to include stuff like facecam, commentary, pop-offs, crowd reaction and the like.
In my mind, the 1st story arc would be Super Early Japanese 3DS days, with the Smash Invitational to start off the show. The second arc would be Worldwide release of the 3DS version, this time focusing more on the top players. The third arc would be Smash Wii U's release up until Apex 2015. The fourth arc would be more about the refinement of top tier characters, Zero's domininance, the Diddy nerf and Mewtwo's release. Everything before EVO 2015 would be in the fifth arc, including Roy, Ryu and Lucas' releases along with more balances and ZeRo's continued winstreak. The sixth arc would just be EVO and seeing ZeRo reck everyone, and a focus on some lesser known players. And the seventh arc would take us to today (September 2015).
