I have a terrible mindset. It's gotten to the point where I'll just get super sad whenever I play Smash 4 because I just lose all the time, constantly. What do I do?

I highly suggest reading this.

I lose often myself (I'm only Bronze I on Anther's Ladder). I used to be upset about losing but I began to channel it into motivation. Motivation to improve so next time I will do better and maybe even win!

Losing is part of the game. Rather than looking at in a negative perspective, consider it an opportunity to observe and reflect on how you can improve yourself.

Was my approach too obvious?
Did I use too many high-risk reward moves?
What could I have done to prevent "X" from happening?

These are the type of questions you should ask yourself so you can prepare yourself next time around.

"There are zero lessons in victory, but a 1000 in defeat".

I'm definitely in the "I suck, why even try?" category. It seems like no matter how hard I try at the game I still get my ass handed to me on a silver platter, yet I struggle to understand why other than "I accidentally side-b'd" or "I whiffed a grab", but even if I hadn't done that I still would have lost. Often, when joining a match on Anther's, I can't help but think, "This person is in Silver II, I'm gonna lose regardless of how well I play" When I look back on the match, it's just me making stupid mistakes because I doubt myself, but I don't know how to stop doubting myself.

It takes time and experience to get better at the game. You'll make mistakes while you're trying to improve. It seems you have a bit of a confidence issue which can greatly hinder your ability to play.

If you doubt yourself and think you're going to lose then 9/10 times you're probably going to lose. You need to believe in what you're capable and despite the skill level of your opponent give it your all.

Once you're able to do that, you'll be able to improve tremendously. Back in Brawl within my group of friends that came together I was considered the "mentor" of the group.

If you'd like I'd be more than happy to play with you sometime and give you some pointers.
