How to use old Ganondorf alt costumes in 3.5?

Hey guys so I've noticed that with the transition from 3.0 to 3.5, my ganondorf costumes suddenly no longer work. When I try to go into the battle, the game freezes. Trying to use the costume in Dolphin makes this error appear:


Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance!

edit: I noticed that the costume did come with its own Motionetc, but when I use it all Ganondorfs can no longer use the 3.5 moves (sword taunt, cape, hover).

I'm not sure abotu the warning but the motionetc.pac is the file that has all the animations and so on... so without that you won't have the animations for those moves and they won't work...

Right, so I don't really know how to make the pac/pcs model files agree with the 3.5 motionetc. Does this mean that I have to remake everything from scratch? From the looks of things I should be able to edit the fitganonXX.pac and configure it to agree with the motionetc.pac, but I don't know what to edit.

Thank you for the program!

um... Is there any way that you could give me a quick walkthrough of what I'm supposed to do, please? I found The Paprika Kiler's PSA guide, and there are a lot of things that you can edit with PSA. I think I only have to work with a very small portion of PSA to fix this problem, and there's just so much information to wade through.

Even a starting point would be wonders for me :)

trying to open the costume in PSA 2.35 led to an error that said "Bad pointer list size" and that the file could not be opened :(

as i said, you have to edit the moveset file which is the fitganon.pac without a number... the costume files only have the character model with textures in them...

you have to edit the name of the animations used by the sub-actions for the new PM moves to be the names of animations in your motionsetc.pac... you can look through the animations and their names in brawlbox, so look that up...

Ahh I see, the fitganon.pac in the pf\fighter\ganon folder, got it.

But if I'm supposed to change the fitganon.pac to search for something in the Bass motionsetc.pac, doesn't that mean that I'll lose the 3.5 moves? I would like to hold onto the 3.5 ganon motionsetc, but still use the costume.pac.

I'm also confused with how the costume files only hold textures, but they have something to do with the motionsetc that makes the costume unplayable. I'll mess around with some files in BrawlBox in the meantime, but could you explain a bit more, please?

I'm really glad that you're so patient, since I don't know nearly as much as I need to

no the costume doesn't really have anything to do with the motionetc... so your costume should work...
unless you've done something wrong with dolphin... i'm not sure what that error means...

anyways you'd only be changing what animations the moves use, not the moves themselves... unless you further edit that in psa...
