How to turn off A + Arrow smash attacks

Is this possible? Sick of using the wrong moves because of it, would prefer to just use the smash stick

also rolling by using Cstick, can this be turned off? (same deal, sick of rolling extra when attempting to smash)

Nope. The controls in this game are all macros and are pretty lazily programmed. There are bigger problems than this, but no, this isn't possible.
