First of all
Hello! I'm Lord Puff IV also know as the Cheese Shogun!

As the topic say's I want to record games from a T.V. to a DVD,PC,USB or any input.
I'll be hosting a Tournament on the (16/08/2014) the very first Tournament of my Town (Monclova,Coahuila,Mexico) and the community here is still small. I always go to Tournaments on Mexico on Big Cities but I have talked it with friends and we think is time to to start a venue on our small town ; D .

The tournament is small ( 32 entrants) but I really want to record at least the Winner's, Loser's and Grand Final so we can upload it to youtube to use them as promotion for the next tournament. But I don't really know anything about how to record from a T.V. to another input, beside VCR. So If anyone could help me out with this I will be in debt with you.

Thanks in advance!

I have been looking into this myself since I'm starting a weekly Smashfest at my house soon.

I know the pros use products like Elgato or Hauppauge, but products like that are expensive and you don't need HD for Smash (yet).

So I think I'm going to try a much cheaper product first like the EZCap
In combination with some A/V splitters I should be able to record to my computer and play on the TV at the same time with no lag (I hope).

Of course there's also the old school solution...
The VCR. Since it already has both video/audio inputs and outputs all you need is a VHS tape, but if you want to put it online you would still need a video capture card for your computer.

I just ordered an AverMedia Live Portable Gamer... hoping it works ok, and that I can get some decent streaming going on from linux (which is not supported by the software that comes with the device, unfortunately).
