Hi, I'm playing soinc for a minute now und he easily became my favorite. I love his fast approach, but his lack auf kill options bothers me a bit.

My friend plays Ganon as Main und Falcon as 2nd. He's Rolling a lot and basically just w8 for me to make an approach and punish it. In fact his Role game and defense game with Dtils is so heavy, I can almost never get a grab or kill smash in. The result: I need to combo him like 140-180 to land a kill, while his Falcon/ Ganon often gets me often at like 90.

My only way punishing roles away is his dash attack. Any hints or suggestions to punish this defense and achieve an earlier kill ?

In the future, please redirect questions like this to our FAQ thread.

Sonic's kill options have been greatly improved since Brawl. Fsmash is reliable, but Bthrow is probably his strongest tool. Sonic relies a lot on getting grabs, and Bthrow with rage can kill by 100% pretty easily (maybe give a little on the heavier characters). Sonic's Usmash, while being harder to land, has probably the highest amount of knockback and can kill as early as 90%.

The biggest problem you're having is a player problem. If you know they're going to roll, cover those options. Sonic's Dsmash can cover both sides of him at once, making it ideal for rolls. If you know when they're going to roll, you can literally just run up and grab them when they're vulnerable towards the end of the roll, as you stated having issues landing grabs to begin with, which would lead to Bthrow kills or even Fthrow kills (Fthrow can kill around 120-140% depending on rage) which would solve your problem of not getting earlier kills.

If you continue to peruse our stickies, you'll find we have more elaborate breakdowns on his moveset, which even includes a list of suggested KO moves and options.

tl;dr

Rolling is bad. Punish better.
