How to play Peach efficiently?

So, after playing some friendlies throughout the roster, I came across Peach, a past pocket character in Melee and Brawl. I want to pick her up again, this time as a main. I've played For Glory and I think I've identified my problems.

• Turnips. How should I use them? They don't feel like Melee's anymore.
• Killing moves. Self-explanatory.
• Defense. What are her options?

I can float on ground to use her aerials there already, and I can give damage pretty easily already, though. Help appreciated.

Turnips still retain the debuff from brawl. They are heavier and cannot be thrown as far. Still super useful but you will have to smash throw them more often which can be hard on thumbs lol. Also the lag on pulling Turnips seems to be increased so make sure you have an opening to pull one first.

Kill moves are aplenty! Just not what youd expect. FSmash, UpSpecial, Dash Attack, Sweetspot USmash and Utilt, and Uair (if you hit its sweet spot on opponents near the ceiling) and of course Fairs

As for Defense options Toad is actually beastly in Smash 4 as a counter. Especially if you bait an opponent to hit it up close. Otherwise you go with the standard options like DSmash(approach punish), Ftilt(suprise launcher), Turnips(Zoning and general mayhem), and Nuetral Air (to combat being rushed down with combos)

Thats all i can think of for now. She is amazing once you master her new skillset!

@ DrROBschiz That's some really helpful information. I just recently started picking up Peach and can definitely say she seems well worth it so far.

EDIT: Can someone explain what exactly is a smash throw? I'm having a hard time looking it up.

You basicially throw the turnip using the C-Stick left or right.

Yup or a hard tap and A as opposed to just throwing with A or Tilting. Basically Performing a smash attack with an item in your hand
