This is an old training method i thought up right around the time i dabbled in stage editor, but it will make your game in the air flawless with easy practice you will become better at performing off the stage while egde guarding, racking up damage while juggling the opponent and play defensively in the air, and avoid being juggled or edge guarded

Cocept is simple, perfect practice makes perfect, practicing bad habits won't make you better so what is the only way to train and be 100% in the air to better your self... let's start now

Go to Stage builder and make a medium stage

Count 2 spaces in on each side and go to the very bottom of the stage and make 1 block2 spaces from the side and at the very bottom, now on both sides build 2 more blocks directly on top of the other 2. Now you should have 2 small walls at the bottom of the stage.

Make 1 large platform of whatever to connect these blocks across the top, now put springs on every platform all the way across

Done, oops what is this? not enough platforms for characters to land on :embarrass come on, hey it's fine this is only for training and it will still work, now make platforms underneath the springs on ever possible level so there are 3 levels under the springs, and then go to the very top of the stage and take the smallest platforms that don't move but if placed next to eachother have a gap to fall threw, do this across the entire map, and you should have a dashed platform across the top, it looks bad but you need it so what ever

okay the stage is done now time for some training

Go to training mode pick your Main (Luigi) in this case, and pick a strong opponent in the air, IE MK, turn the opponent to level 9 and start the round, drop down to the springs and put the opponent on attack, they now will fall and come down to the springs leading to an 100% aerial battle, now how to get better?

From here you can work on all of your combos in the air you will use to rack up damage fast so when your in a game you will have done it so much that you won't miss and your air combos will be lethal and put out HUGE %'s don't be suprized after 1 week of this if you start to win more matches and seem to be KOing people faster

How to work on defense? Well MK is no scrub in the air on level 9, the way i work to beat him and get better is by making myself not attack unless being attacked, IE i will fastfall into a metaknight Uair, i air juke and punish and from here you can continue to dodge or go onto...

Practicing your WoP/Edge guarding, if you want to be better at hitting in your WoP (wall of pain=Bair/back air spamming to keep opponent continuously knocked away like a wall of luigi) i know the final part of an edge guard is grabbing the edge but, if you can knock your opponent farther horizontally away from the stage you can take your time and make an easier recovery and time the opponent better leading to more prat falls with low %'s and more horizontal KO's at low %'s

This is just one of the ways i used to make my air game what it is now, and it helped me get to a higher level of play with wigi, with out being too boring, it may seem repetitive but it's non stop repetition and will make you better faster, trust me! IDK if any one else has made the spring level before, but if so and you have a way to do it with out the top platforms please post here, mine was a mock up for training purpose only so i take no credit for either of these ideas im sure they've been used before it's just a tip to help wigi's get a better air game

got any suggestions or things to add please do! im intrested to hear how other people work on their air games

Err, I don't believe in the perfect pratice makes perfect but meh lol. IMO I don't think training on a level 9 will help.. because humans fighting differently.. And I think your talking about stage builder. I believe if not we have a section for that. A link or perhaps a video/picture how it exactly looks like would be more helpful.

The way I've worked on my air game is through countless days of exprenice. I always mix up my aerials since he can fit 2 aerials in one shorthop. One thing I can't telling is that, ALWAYS SPACE! You don't know how many times I've been shieldgrabbed horribily because of this. Learn how to attack and DI back.

That's my 2cents it just comes and goes for me.

I realize that practicing on a computer is absolutely not even close to facing a human. Mainly because there are AI bugs that can be manipulated easily. (be pikachu do a 32 man tourny and play 1 stage corneria, all lvl 9 computers all you need to do is go to the bottom of corneria and press down b over and over and you'll win the whole tournie every time) just 1 example. Plus a human GNW would bucket 3 shots and punish you, but this is not to get better at strategy at all VS humans. It will just help you become more accurate at using your aerials and be able to hit more often when facing humans. So if you do it 1,000 times vs a computer and hit it 950 times (IE Bair) then next time you get an opponent off the edge with a shield grab Bthrow you can go right to spamming your WoP of Bairs and you will hit a lot more than you used to.

And this was only developed because the only people i have to play with are some friends and whoever online before tournies, and it really surprised me on how much more accurate i was while edge guarding, because i used to miss a lot and allow a would be KO to get back to the stage unscathed

yeah i never thought of spiking :-P i did that vs a jump this probably would be very nice for spiking practice

I'd take normal stages for practice over pure air spring stages. You don't get to practice linking aerials with tilts and stuff without floors.

If you want to learn how to accurately spike, go to training mode, put falco to jump, 45%, go behind him while hes jumping, jump at the same time, the hitbox should be around his hands and you'll be able to constantly spike him.

Also, if your gonna pratice through online for a real tourney or anything, I suggest you shouldnt unless you don't have anyone to play against. Because in online, every bit of lag slows down your game and ruins your own potential.
