How to open up opportunities to shine

Hey guys I'm a new falco main but I'm having trouble getting into a position to shine my friend. Every time I try to wavedash into a shine I'll get grabbed or upsmashed. I can dair>shine but that's the only way I can seem to do it. Any tips?

SHFFL dair into shine works at low %s. Uthrow to shine takes a bit of practice, but works. DD -> WD shine is a fairly good idea. Utilt shine works at lower %s, as well. @ 20YY SS | Saiblade I know the list is incomplete, please help out our fellow bird.

Np. My Falco only has like 2 months of experience, but hopefully I'm right lol

Falco's DD isn't the greatest, but DD WD in Shine is okay. Utilt is a great way to get a shine, (utilt shine). Soft Nair to shine is great. Laser jab shine is great too.

If your friend is grabbing or Upsmashing every time, you can try to bait that out, maybe by doing something like dash forward-> WD down->punish. That way, next time you go for wavedash->shine, he might hesitate and basically give you the shine for free.
